Call to Action
Call To Action (CTA) is a Catholic movement working for equality and justice in the Church and society. An independent national organization of over 25,000 people in 53 local chapters, CTA believes that the Spirit of God is at work in the whole church, not just in its appointed leaders. CTA acts to bring into focus the full spectrum of Church renewal issues, intersecting and interacting to produce a vision of the Catholic Church as it can and should be.
The West Coast Regional Conference
The Redwood Empire chapter of CTA is hosting the West Coast Regional Conference in 2010 at the Flamingo Hotel in Santa Rosa, California. The conference consists of plenary sessions and breakout sessions from Friday evening, April 16 through Sunday morning, April 18. We have a wonderful roster of speakers which includes some of our local talent and some of the national and international visionaries of our time: Edwina Gateley, Brian Swimme, Marek Bozek, Victoria Rue, and Michael Morwood, just to name a few.

Conference Issues
Here are some of the questions we have asked our speakers to address:
- How can a community welcome a universal membership regardless of race, economic standing, gender, sexual
preference or political convictions and still stay cohesive?
- Is it truly possible to have a religious community that is not clearly defined by law and dogma?
- Can you build a community simply through prayer and service?
- Can we practice a spirituality that is still informed by the Christian tradition and, yet, open to the new cosmology?
- How is church membership defined?
- What about exclusion - excommunication?
- What is the future of ecumenical dialogue?
- How are we to respond to the Vatican's invitation to disenchanted Anglicans?
- Is there a realistic way to establish common ground beyond our Christian borders?
